Happy 27th Month Birthday

This past weekend you and I accompanied Gowah and Patty-cakes to Columbia to see Cole-Cole's play. We had a great trip! This was your first theatre production, and you were amazing! Cole even said the cast and crew were amazed at how cute you were and that you sat perfectly through the entire production!

This month you have really started speaking in real (2 yr old) grownup sentences:

Here is a sampling from this moment:

Buckle my up Mommy
I all buckle
I goin to Dis-in-ney World Mommy
I want this up in the chair

You also have learned to further express and suppress your emotions! You are so easy to talk to and calm down. Right now you are saying, " oh no and crying b/c you cannot get the string back in the hat. But all I had to do was explain how the string worked and you were automatically fine!

Mike-n-Mike

So cute how you are speaking in full sentences and repeating everything you hear...just not always correctly. You have a favorite show right now, Mike The Knight ( Mike-n-Mike). Mommy and Daddy totally understand your language, it may take us a few time hearing a phrase or word, but you are very patient with us until we get it...but honestly WE rarely have trouble, you speak pretty well for your age. It's just those that aren't with you everyday thy get stumped sometimes.

Team Umi Zoomie ( Umi City)
Beauty and the Beast (beautybeast)
The Wizard of OZ (The Wizard of BOZ)

Horsey ( Forsey)....grandma Madelyn mistakenly thought you were talking about a froggy when you were saying horsey.

Somersault ( summer-self)---which you can do quite well!

We are just hanging out on the couch in the green room for a little nap right now. I've heard people talk about how their toddlers are not cuddlers, you however are the queen of cuddles! You love to lay on Mommy or Daddy, you love to hold hands too! You also really like to lay on top of me when you sleep...which is super sweet, and I love it, just not too comfy :)

Dorothy goes over the rainbow to meet Holy Golightly for Breakfast at Tiffany's in a 1960's mod kitchen

No secret that we are in the middle of a huge home renovation project with The Golf House so mommy has started a house remodel blog...to check out the blog, google: golf house remodel blog. We are currently installing the windows.......
Today however you and I embarked on an adventurous day choosing a paint color for Your new room...yes, Daddy and I finally agreed that YOU should choose your own bedroom color and did DID you ever pick out the color! I like to think of the color as Dorothy goes over the rainbow to meet Holy Golightly for Breakfast at Tiffany's in a 1960's mod kitchen :)
Now that we are home, and the color is on the walls...you LOVE it, and mommy and daddy, not so much...I have been a fan of WHITE ON WHITE! Daddy wanted a vibrant blue, you wanted pink until today, and you chose blue. I was so unsure I turned around to head back to the paint shop after my brave decision to in fact allow my two year old to choose her own paint color. But, I held strong and now we will just have to see if we can all live with your expert decorator choice.
I do have to say the people at Lakeside Interiors in Stockton, Missouri are amazing! They were very patient with us and helped make the entire experience fun and exciting for us both! I'm going to save the big reveal of your color for a later post, after we have the color on the walls!

I worked on homework for my masters while you played and watched your faves!
All grandparents and Auntie Blair came to check things out, and after everyone left, we went swimming while daddy and grandpa worked on the little patio.
By the time we got home you were poooped after our shower (no nap) so you were out by 9!!!!!!! Last night you didn't go to bed until after 12:00 am!!!!!!

4th of July

Our day started off with a trip to the Amish farm to get a little produce...and of course to see the horses and doggies. Right now we are watching The Wizard of Oz and you're running back and forth from the kitchen to the living room at Gowah and Pat's. Now you want to go outside...to swim and hang out with "your buddy" Gowah :)
