Grantham 3 months--Iowa trip 6/25/14

In preparation for our first summer regional trip with EJ, we had family photos taken. :)

the night before we headed to Iowa, we stayed at Tom's condo on the Plaza. We celebrated Grantham's third month! He's such a happy and adorable little guy! He is so content to enjoy the adventure we call life, and is mostly happy to just be along for the ride! I'm not nervous at all about taking him on the trip, or nervous about being able to enjoy our time boating and enjoying lots of outdoor activities!

The stay was wonderful! We enjoyed lots of time with other little kids and Garrity made lots of new friends! Grantham was a champ and didn't mind being left a couple of times in the daycare area, and of course Garrity loved the opportunity to make lots of arts and crafts!

My Birthday

Impossible to post... toddler on lap and swatting MY hands away to get at the keyboard!?

My birthday weekend started off with the obligatory White Christmas assembly at ol' NHS and then Bo and I booked it out of town to the Plaza! The G's spent the night with the Bishop's and we enjoyed an evening of Plaza lights, delicious Cheese Cake Factory, our holiday favorite--Embassy Suites off the Plaza, and wonderful long-time friends!

There is just something so magical about our longstanding tradition to spend my birthday at The Plaza. We started the festive ritual our first year of marriage, and we've made a point to make the trek each and every year since. This was the first year since G was born to go it alone... but our post-Christmas plans entail a wonderful adventure so we didn't feel too guilty taking a night to ourselves!

Upon return to Nevada, and snoozing until a luxurious 8:45'ish (with a sick baby...) I was served flaming donuts in bed and enjoyed being showered with lulu lemon and cuddles from the G's and Bo.

Mother of the Year/ why several posts from the past year will now appear :)

Clearly this award will not be bestowed upon me this year. It's hard to juggle working full time and raising two kids, keeping a house together, and we just added a new puppy into the mix! Life is great; exactly what I have always wished for...but exhausting and demanding nonetheless. I've made it my resolution to get back on the blogging horse and keep up with this as I had originally intended. That being said, I have several posts that for one reason or another were never posted. I am going to clean house and post all of these drafts and try to do so in chronological order. I will also post the original date in the title. In order to keep my one and only loyal reader happy ;) I will make a promise to keep up at least weekly during 2016! PROMISE!

Back-To-School Celebrations and MEET THE TEACHER FESTIVITIES!

We began celebrating the impending start of school last weekend with a shopping extravaganza at Janie and Jack, with Gowah and Grandma Pat! G was so incredibly cute that the lady at the store requested that she step outside in front of the bench so our photos would turn out better :) After the shopping fun, we met Daddy at The Cheesecake Factory at The Plaza. The weekend was filled with fun! Saturday we spent the day meandering through The KC Zoo! After the zoo, we spent the late afternoon and evening swimming and then had a wonderful night at a new sports store called Sheel's! Garrity and Daddy rode the indoor Ferris Wheel and Garrity got to go bowling for the first time!

We spent two nights in KC, and enjoyed just being "us" for the weekend! We also have had several visitors leading up to the BIG DAY!
LOVE the expression on her little face :)

SO proud!

The second day we had a blast at the KC Zoo! We never tire of this big ol' polar bear!

Love this sweet face...he's contemplating the sheep :)

There is a baby in this mommy's pouch!

Daddy's first encounter with the Lorakeets!

Grantham's still not a fan!

After the zoo we went to the hotel and swam for a while. We then headed out to a new sports store: Sheels and enjoyed all of the activities it had to offer!

When we got back home Sunday evening, we enjoyed dinner at Gowah and Grandma Pat's and then were greeted with a huge care-package from The Crooks' family!

We all enjoyed looking at the photo album full of photos of Garrity from birth to kindergarten!

The Night Before Kindergarten book!

Super-cool Anna and Elsa notebook and folder, along with loads of other school supplies!

Gratham even got in on the fun!

Monday night Grandma Madelyn stopped by to drop off a few BTS treasures!

A couple of new shirts and a fun new book for this kiddo!

The Belly Button Book....super appropriate for a kid obsessed with his belly button.
