Thanksgiving 2014

Somehow this post didn't get uploaded...

Everyone's snoozing away, and I'm waiting to run, after a quick trip to Walmart at 5:30 am...turns out, you cannot purchase champagne, or any other kind of alcohol, before 6:00am...even if it is for your thanksgiving  turkey :/ So...I suppose I'll have to head back AGAIN...after my run. This is Grantham's first Thanksgining.
Just when the terrible-three's seemed to be a distant memory, they reared their nasty head again...in the form of a Garrity had a huge meltdown last night...she wanted Cole-Cole to stay the night with her, or she wanted to stay the night at their house! It was a horrible melt-down, but probably due to all of the excitement of the holiday and having Cole in town!

Today after the run- The day was great! We had plenty of time to get the turkey roasted and the car loaded. We were right on time and had a delicious time with Aunt Mary and Uncle Edward, Aunt Sis and Uncle Kenny, Julie and her family, and Carl Ray and Josie; and Jack and Shirley.

We celebrated with Daddy's family on Friday. It was super fun...tons of kiddos! Daddy worked until noon and we were able to enjoy the day together!

Garrity...four years, nine months

So...not sure how this is possible, but YOU ARE ALMOST FIVE. this past year I have been awful with trying to chronicle the first year of Grantham's life with as much furor as I covered yours...as a result; I am lacking in the Garrity Scott department! That being said, I feel that I will need to start chronicling the lives of our family versus trying to go back and forth with each of you...it was, after all, your request that I combine the two blogs and create ONE Garrity and Grantham blog for the two of you to share.  It is not without emotion that I type these words. In your almost five years of life, you have become one of the most intelligent children I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. You are so wise beyond your years... using words and phrases much beyond your years: "Please bring my iPad so that I may entertain myself on the ride home." or "I'll trim off the excess around the cookie cutter, Mommy." You and I are almost halfway through Dickens': A Christmas Carol. You chat nonchalantly about tutorials, and use the phrase: as well.

You are very much into acting and theater and all that goes with that industry. While watching the making of Peter Pan, they began to chronicle the casting process. While totally engrossed with the television,  you said with as much heartfelt longing as I've ever heard you express, " Mommy, I'd love to be a part of those details."
You love makeup, you love fashion, you love American Girl dolls and Disney characters. You love to play. You also love to be outside! You love to ride your scooter around and around the house at an alarming speed! You love to play with, and blow up, balloons! Your favorite foods are mac-and-cheese, cottage cheese, sticky rice, toast and grape jelly, and the marshmallows from the Lucky Charms box.

You are the best big sister in the world. The only fault in your sistering, is that sometimes you love with too much gusto...with too much fervor and strength :)

As your fourth year comes to an end, you and I have started to plan for your fifth birthday! You have a very specific vision and idea for your fifth birthday, which has become: bounce-house/Easter/Frozen...I suppose I should start planning now for such a specific and intense request...

9 Months

Christmas day marked the ninth month of your life! Over the course of the past eight months you have learned:

HOW TO WALK (you started exactly eight months and one week into your life)! I've uploaded a little progression movie I made! We aren't talking about just toddling or cruising or whatever other trendy titles people pin on a little tike, you are full on WALKING around the house! You just kind of started showing interest at just about eight months and one week! You were kind of cruising around the ottoman and we tried to have you go between us a few times, it didn't take long for you to get the swing of it! In the span of two weeks, you had it down and before nine months, you were seriously walking!

By the time you celebrated your ninth month, you had grown FOUR TEETH! December 23, 2014 was the first really bad day of your short life! You had almost totally pushed your left, upper front tooth totally through, and on top of that, you had a horrific cough! You wanted nothing but to be held...and even that wasn't enough. The entire day I had you wearing a super cute Pottery Barn Kids Christmas sleeper, and I attribute some of the fussiness to the warmth you must have felt...being sick and growing teeth.

Words that you are speaking are: Momma and Dadda, the cool part is HOW you use those words. You use them in the proper context, you seem to know that they are attached to each of us!

Christmas day was a great day! You weren't into opening presents as much as you were into eating paper and crawling on the packages! Santa brought you a choo choo train and a little house that has all sorts of fun things to play with, doors to open, buttons to push; it's one of your favorite gifts! You also got a basketball goal, and a rocking lamby; in addition to tons of clothes, toys, and lots and lots of love!

We love you baby boy! I thank God every single day that he sent YOU to us :)
