You are becoming so independent lately! You interact like no other 10 month baby (happy tenth month by the way...February only has 28 days, you didn't have an official tenth month birthday). It's been a while since my last post, mainly because you are running around like a wild banshee!
Daddy is skiing this weekend, so it's just you and I. We have been hanging out with G&G H. and Auntie Blair. Last night I rocked you to sleep and you slept for one whole hour in your crib (second time ever at night) and then you woke up...I was asleep on the floor next to your crib, so as soon as you rustled around I was there to get you. I don't think you even had time to get one full cry out b/f I was picking you up. That was the plan, so that you wouldn't have time to be scared. I think that is important. You have never felt scared or alone or afraid. You are so happy...all the time, and I really think that has something to do with it. Mommy or Daddy one is always there to make you feel safe, so you are totally confident and HAPPY! HAPPY! HAPPY!
So you have had the walking thing down for some time, and now you are venturing more with your speech. Today you said baby very clearly, as well as mooooo...as in cow. Mostly your vocab consists of: mama, dada, hi there, and you can kind of say something that sounds like bye bye. You cough when provoked, and hiss at kitty's, or when I would ask you what the kitty says today you would hiss! That's what G.H says when you try to pet the kitty Mocha, "Hisss mean kitty". Today when you were getting ready to jerk a crystal dish off of the shelf at their house, Grandma H. said to you, "what does Grandma say?"She was totally hinting at NO NO, and you hissed at her! We all laughed and laughed at you...but you were totally right!
Tonight we ate at the Buffalo Grill in Ft. Scott. You were tired and grumpy at first. When we were finished eating, you were walking around the dining room, people loved you...you look so incredibly tiny waltzing around! When they took us upstairs to view the ballroom where NHS will have prom (mommy is a class sponsor this year and planning the function at the grill), you took off! YOU LOVED IT! It was amazing how fast you were...so totally cool! You are such an amazing little person!

I tried to comment on your blog, but for some reason I can't. Thus is what it said:
ReplyDeleteYou also like to "shaka, shaka, shaka"! And yesterday, when I was hugging and kissing you goodbye, I asked you for a kiss and you grabbed my face and put your mouth against my cheek and went, "muuuuh," twice! I also enjoy that now your eating real food, that sometimes you choose to keep it just a little longer by putting it in what I call your pouch, or in between your gums and cheek...then you randomly chew on it and then put it back or swallow it. I also learned this weekend that when you grab your ear, it doesn't mean your tired or have an earache....your talking on the phone! Auntie Blair thinks your an amazing genius and I love you so much!
P.S. You also think it's really funny when your mommy tries to get you to say my name. You just laugh!
Ooops...that comment was from Auntie Blair!
