Happy Birthday Eve!

Tonight is the eve of your FIRST BIRTHDAY! On April 28, 2010 Mommy went in to the hospital for a procedure that was supposed to speed up the whole process to get you here sooner than later! After a day of hanging out in the hospital with Grandma H., eating cheese cake and chatting with G&G H's coworkers, Dr. Russell decided that Daddy and Mommy could go home and rest, and then come back on Friday April 30, 2010 at 7am and Dr. Russell would induce Mommy and really speed things along. We left the hospital around 9pm and we were back by midnight, and at 8:17am you were here! You did most of the work...and when we met you, we knew we loved you so much!

  1. The morning you were born, Aunt Brooke, G&G Headrick and Bishop, GG Smith, Shirley (who made Jack sit in the car), and I were all waiting in the waiting room fo you to make your big arrival. It was very nerve wracking! The Star Spangaled Banner was playing on the tv and Grandpa H and I decided that it was a sign that you must of been born. A nurse came out right after that holding your parents video camera to tell us that you were here and were beautiful, but wouldn't tell us your name! Grandma H missed all of this, because of course she was in the bathroom! Just lime a true Headrick, we had to wait for you to eat before we could meet you for the first time. I was the first one in the room and your mommy was holding you, smiling when I walked in. The first thing she said was that you looked samolian! Finally, your daddy told us your name! I had been waiting so long to find out what it was and they would never tell me! I loved you from the very beginning! It was so very surreal to meet you and hold you for the very first time. I am so very happy that you are in our lives!

P.S. I told you all of this when just the two of us were rocking outside at G&G H's house on the eve of your birthday...you just sat there and listened and played with the button on my jeans while I talked. I also told you that on the day you were born Grandpa looked like an Amish man. True story...when your older, look at the pictures.
