Weekend at Brooke, Darrick, and Baylor's 1/9/14

This weekend was a crazy weekend! Daddy left for KC on Friday morning to take his final Edward Jones test! He passed and headed to get a hair cut and pick up his suits from the tailor at Halls. After picking up a few dress shirts and ties, he headed to Columbia.
You spent the day with Gowah and I picked you up on our way to Grandma and Grandpa Bishop's. We rode to Columbia with them. The ride was pretty uneventful and you are a terrific traveler, so I never anticipated a problem. The only hitch was a long wait at Steak and Shake...but you enjoyed the extra play time and when we returned to the car, you were content for the remainder of the trip. We didn't arrive at Brook and Darrick's until almost 9pm, and you were too excited to play with Baylor to notice that you were exhausted! Finally around 10:30, Baylor went to bed and we did as well. Saturday morning all three of us ran to Starbucks (you rode in the buggy...daddy pushed) and enjoyed a little relaxation time before running back. It was really fun, but we ran to the Starbucks in which  Cole used to work and missed seeing him :( You were a little grumpy at first because you wanted to keep running and weren't too interested in relaxing. After we found some good videos on YouTube, you were fine to relax for a bit.
After our run, you and Baylor played and played in the back yard... you adopted a worm you named Glinda and then changed to Dorothy. You told us that we were going to be Dorothy's new family...she would sleep with you! You played with Dorothy until you dropped her and she wiggled away.
We spend a bit of time at the mall in Columbia. You played in the play area and rode the Carousel with daddy. When it was time to leave, you were totally exhausted and threw a bit of a fit...only to crash on the ride to Brooke and Darrick's house. I laid down with you and we slept from 2:30-4:30. After our nap we went to Bass Pro Christmas celebration! It was super cool! It was like a scene from A Christmas Story! I loved it...you hated it! You are terrified of "characters" and there was a snowman and reindeer wandering around the store greeting customers. Santa had arrived as well and there was a line a mile long to sit on his lap...lucky for us, you burrowed your head in my shoulder when we got near him or the "characters."
We ate dinner at Shakespeare's pizza...you love Shakespeare's because they make the dough and crusts in front of a window and often pitch a piece of dough out through a little hole! The dough entertained you for the hour we waited for our meal, and then most  of the rest of the night :)
You and Baylor played for a while when we got back and then when it was time for bed, you weren't tired AT ALL. We ended up going for a snooze cruise from 12-1:00am. I was really grouchy when you wouldn't fall asleep so when we got in the car I was sure to tell you how much I loved you. You asked me what that meant and then asked me what it meant to forgive someone...talk about precious :) After giving you a little vocab lesson, I told you the entire story of your birth on the cruise and you fell asleep and slept the entire night.
Sunday we went to church and you played in the 3 year old classroom the entire service. I went with you at first and then you told me I could go. But when daddy and I picked you up, you told me you missed me and wanted me to stay with you. You said you thought I was coming back after checking on daddy. I felt bad, but I knew you had a great time! We ate an easy lunch (just the three of us) at a local bakery and then had ice cream at Sparky's. We even caught the tail end of the Veteran's Day parade. You were pumped for a long parade and we only saw the final two entries... told me it was a stupid parade... I had to try not to laugh and explain why it was so short.  It was a fun afternoon, and a super long car ride home. We didn't get back until 6:30. We then went to Gowah's for pizza and raced home to bed.
Lot's of fun, but tooooooooooooooooo much for a regular weekend smushed between work-weeks.
